Getting Rid of Cellulite Dimples Effectively

Not everyone suffers from it, but those of us that do have cellulite dimples on our legs and thighs don't forget about them. They effect what we wear, what we do and of course our self confidence and image. Of course like most troubles today cosmetic and skin care companies have come to the rescue with a slew of products to hide, cover up and stop these dimples from showing, but are they the only alternative?

NO!

There are other options to reduce the appearance of cellulite on your body, you just need to educate yourself first. I'm not saying that cellulite creams and other topical treatments aren't worth considering. A matter of fact I often suggest people use a combination of a topical treatment and exercise to get the best results.

What I am saying is you need to have the truth about what cellulite is, why it's there and how you can get rid of it before you start spending any money or reading any advertisements.

The truth about those Dimples

Cellulite dimples are caused by fat being stuck below the skins surface and pressing up against connective tissues. The connective tissues separate the fat cells and cause the dimpled look to appear on your upper thighs and buttocks. It doesn't exactly sound glamorous does it?

The fat that causes cellulite isn't just burned off like that around our belly and mid section by dieting. This is a much more stubborn area of the body to burn fat from. So you have a few alternatives.

One severe alternative is surgery, although it has some bad side effects and if it doesn't go well can be a bad life changing experience. How ever surgery is the only way to permanently get rid of cellulite from your legs. The remaining treatment alternatives temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite but do not entirely get rid of it.

Topical Treatments

Creams, gels and lotions are all possible solutions to the cellulite issue. A quality anti cellulite product such as Revitol Cellulite cream uses an all natural list of ingredients to firm and tone the skin so dimples are less obvious.

The down side to this or any other topical treatment is it must be used more or less forever unless you partner it with another treatment.

Exercise for Cellulite

Dieting won't do anything for cellulite but exercise will. In fact a great method to reduce the appearance of cellulite is to combine exercises like those we're about to discuss with a topical treatment like Revitol Cellulite.

When you're exercising to reduce cellulite you need to be concentrating on the area most affected, your legs. Running and walking will help but for more intense results you need a more intense workout. Jump rope and/or stair climbers are both excellent methods of toning the muscles in the legs and shaping the way your skin looks.

As muscles become more defined from exercise cellulite visibility is reduced. To speed up the results you see using a topical cellulite cream can help. Of course, the benefit to partnering the topical treatment with exercise is once your exercise results over take that of the cream you can discontinue use of the topical treatment.
